4 Classic Video Games From Our Childhood (And How To Play Them Again)

Miss the days of the old 300-in-1 video game CDs from Baitul Mukarram? Before the days of the internet and smartphones, arcades and Pentium-II computers were our favorite platforms for video games. The graphics of those games probably won’t appeal to the gamers of today, but those of us who lived those days do get nostalgic when remembering the games of the past. Let’s take a trip down the memory lane and look back at some video games you will surely remember!

1. Cadillacs and Dinosaurs (AKA Mustapha) – Capcom (1993)

No list of video games popular in Bangladesh would be complete without mentioning this one! A side-scrolling beat ’em up released by Capcom in 1993, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs is arguably the most popular arcade game in the history of Bangladesh. One of the playable characters was named Mustapha Cairo, which somehow led to the game being known in Bangladesh as Mustapha 😛

Fun Fact: Cadillacs and Dinosaurs was originally based on a comic book series named Xenozoic Tales. It also had a 13 episode animated cartoon and a sequel video game named Cadillacs and Dinosaurs: The Second Cataclysm.

Street Fighter II is probably the most popular 2D fighting game of all time, however King of Fighters fans and Mortal Kombat fans will disagree. I myself have always been a fan of Samurai Shodown instead, so I don’t necessarily agree with any of them 😛

The original Prince of Persia ranks among one of the most difficult games I’ve played. However it still somehow became really popular in Bangladesh. Maybe it had something to do with us having very few games and a lot of time back in the days 😛

DX-Ball was the game that you could find on any computer in the 90s and early 2000s. The game was amazing for its time and still entertaining to this day. Also, you may remember – Ctrl+F2, Ctrl+F3, and Ctrl+F4 😛
